I got sunburned REALLY REALLY badly while I was in Tel Aviv and staying at the Home Hostel (circa late June 1986).
I was semi-delirious and in and out of consciousness for almost a week. Everyone thought I was going to die.
Ami, the proprietor, put me in the room next to the bathroom. I wasn't able to get out of bed and use the bathroom till around the sixth day. Till then I used bed pans and a British girl named Stephanie gave me sponge baths. It took me a really long time to get ('walk') to the bathroom because my skin had gotten so tight and it hurt so much to move.
