went to Hulata in 1979 with John Allan, had an education of the best sorts......met Venka, from the Swiss German nationality a superstar......taught me how to crochet and spin wool from the cotton found on the fences to make a fabulous waistcoat. So many good people there, even had a few glasgow guys there who loved shabat when the volunteers got some beer for being good. John fed the guard dogs round the perimetre so we were all safe and sound. Loved venturing into the Golan Heights....as long as you stuck to the well trodden footpaths you were fine.....wander off and goodness knows you may have been with the angels!!!! however found a wee syrian camp swimming pool, fed by the mountain waters.....what an experience...... viva la israel xx what a wonderful place x read on.
